2023 Sustainability Report

ConnectMyApps' climate report

Driving Sustainability. ConnectMyApps’ 2023 Climate Accounting Report

Running a sustainable business is important to us at At ConnectMyApps. Our Climate Accounting Report for 2023 provides a comprehensive overview of our greenhouse gas emissions, aligning our sustainability efforts with the most recognised global standards: the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. This ensures transparency and reliability as we measure, report, and act on our carbon footprint.

A data-driven approach to climate action

Our climate accounting method is rooted in financial reporting principles, providing a clear view of which business activities contribute most significantly to our carbon footprint. By expressing greenhouse gas emissions in terms of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2-e), we standardise the measurement of various gases, allowing for easy comparison and assessment. This approach empowers us to identify high-impact areas and prioritise targeted emission reduction measures.

Understanding the scope of our emissions

Our emissions are categorised into three scopes, as defined by the GHG Protocol:

  1. Scope 1: Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources. (not applicable in this report due to consolidated reporting).
  2. Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the consumption of purchased electricity, steam, heating, and cooling (not applicable in this report due to consolidated reporting).
  3. Scope 3: Indirect emissions that occur in our value chain, such as employee commuting, business travel and 3rd party provided services.

For 2023, our total emissions amounted to 89 tons of CO2-e, with all emissions falling under Scope 3.

ConnectMyApps is thus on par with comparable organisations within the Norwegian software and consultancy segment, but we are committed to addressing these emissions further in the time to come through effective climate strategies. In particular the focus will fall within the utilisation of our datacenter resources, where we together with our partner, Amazon Web Services, will work to reduce our carbon footprint further.

As ConnectMyApps is majority owned by Amesto AccountHouse Holding AS, and receives numerous adminstrative services from the Amesto Group, Scope 1 and 2 reporting is made on group level. Please see Group report

Tracking our progress towards net zero

Our climate report tracks quarterly emissions to ensure consistent monitoring. In 2023, we achieved an 8% reduction in our carbon footprint compared to the base year (2022), signaling positive progress toward our net zero goals. The reduction was driven by enhanced data visibility, allowing for better decision-making and strategic action.

Partnering for accountability

The quality and accuracy of our climate accounting are validated by Amesto Footprint, ensuring our data meets the highest standards. With a focus on accountability, we aim to lead by example in the pursuit of sustainable business practices.
